MAINTENANCE TECH IV Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Technician Level 4 to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician Level 4, you will be responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair tasks on a wide range of equipment and systems. You will be expected to work independently, with minimal supervision, and provide guidance and training to lower-level technicians.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform complex maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and systems, including but not limited to:
  • Mechanical systems (pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, depositors, mixers, etc.)
  • Electrical systems (PLC, VFD’s, control panels, wiring, circuit breakers, etc.)
  • Steam Boilers, Hot water heaters
  • Plumbing systems (pipes, valves, fixtures, etc.)
• Troubleshoot complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Installs and tests basic PLC components that uses a ladder logic program to interface to a hardware component.
• Uses dimensional measurement tools properly to inspect dimensions of shafts and other components.
• Align and adjust gear drives.
• Connects and test a DC power supply to ensure proper operation.
• Installs and test solid-state AC and DC discrete and analog.
• Installs and test analog electronic sensors and signal conditioning equipment.
• Adjusts and repairs AC drive to control motor speed and torque.
• Transfers programs to programmable controller using a PC.
• Creates a basic programmable logic controller (PLC) ladder-style program using internal and external contacts, timers, counters, non-retentive output coils, internal coils, subroutines, conditional commands and math commands
• Install align and adjust pillow block bearings.
• Performs predictive maintenance to extend equipment uptime.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
• Provide guidance and training to lower-level technicians
• Mentor and coach junior technicians to improve their skills and knowledge
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities
• Develop and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair history, and parts usage
• Stay up to date with new technologies and techniques through continuous learning and professional development

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Experience: 10+ years of experience in maintenance and repair, with a focus on complex systems and equipment
• Certifications: Valid certifications in one or more of the following areas:
  • Electrical (e.g. journeyman's license)
  • Mechanical (e.g. hydronics, pneumatics)

Working Conditions:

• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
• May be required to work in cramped or confined spaces, or at heights
• May be required to work overtime, including evenings and weekends

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.  Work positions include walking, standing, climbing, and walking fast in an emergency situation.

Must be able to work in Hot and Cold rooms and/or ambient outside temperatures.
